It is estimated that 60% of foreign
residents in Korea live in Yongsan area, south of Seoul, and a large
proportion of the rest live in Sungbuk-dong, Pyongchang-dong, Yonhi-dong
and Bangbae-dong. In these areas, many western style residences have
been built to meet the needs of the growing foreign population. Housing
units under construction are largely accommodating the western style
floor plan doing away with a typical layout of a Korean residence.
